Did you know that emerging nations hold 80 percent of the world’s population and hold 80 percent of its natural resources? The world’s fastest economic growth is also taking place in developing nations.

With access to key natural resources and rapidly growing populations, these nations stand to play a key role in the future of the global economy

Because of this, U.S. Global Investors works with a number of global organizations to promote global peace and prosperity.

William J. Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative

Clinton Foundation

U.S. Global Investors believes in the work being done by the William J. Clinton Foundation. Our research and travel in Africa and Latin America have allowed us to cross paths with the Clinton Foundation’s efforts there and we’ve witnessed their beneficial impact firsthand.

However, you don’t have to travel to a distant country to see the positive effect the Clinton Foundation is having. By empowering and guiding some of America’s youngest and brightest minds, the Clinton Foundation is inspiring the next generation of givers.

U.S. Global Investors is particularly committed to one of the foundation’s initiatives, the Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative. CGSGI focuses on alleviating poverty in the developing world by identifying opportunities to assist local leaders in addressing social, economic and environmental issues.

Frank Holmes was present when former President Bill Clinton and Canadian businessman Frank Giustra launched CGSGI in 2007. CGSGI gained the support of Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim Helú, who joined Giustra in pledging at least $100 million for CGSGI’s efforts in South America.

So far CGSGI has begun work in Colombia and Peru to strengthen child nutrition, expand access to health care in remote areas, and support entrepreneurship. CGSGI will soon be expanding to reach other impoverished areas in South America.

University of Texas at San Antonio Business Fellowship Program

UTSA

One of our corporate values is to reward and support the initiative to learn and improve. One way we cultivate this value is through a strategic partnership with the University of Texas at San Antonio’s College of Business.

U.S. Global Investors has agreed to annually fund research and analysis by the University’s MBA and doctoral programs. These students are challenged to use high-level mathematics to develop new quantitative models needed to determine investment values.

The fellowship program also allows U.S. Global Investors to give undergraduate finance students real world experience doing investment research and analysis.

Local and Community Causes

U.S. Global Investors and its employees can always be spotted at charitable events around San Antonio. Through both financial and volunteer donations, U.S. Global Investors promotes good health and wellness. Every year, the company has employees who Race for the Cure, walk for the American Heart Association and ride for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Through these programs, U.S. Global Investors hopes to build and maintain a happy, healthy workforce that is ready to take on whatever challenges might come their way.
