Q. How do I open an account at U.S. Global Investors?

For information on how to open an account, see How to Invest. You will need a Prospectus, and once you have downloaded the prospectus, you will need to click on the Forms & Applications tab to select the appropriate application for the type of account you wish to open. You may complete the application on your computer and then print it, or you may print the application first and then complete it by hand.

Mail your application to us with your investment check.

If we can provide any assistance, please contact an Investor Representative at 1-800-US-FUNDS (1-800-873-8637). A Representative will be happy to answer your questions or provide additional information.

Q. What types of deposits will be accepted for new accounts?

Please make checks payable to the Transfer Agent: United Shareholder Services, Inc.

We do not accept the following instruments: money orders, cashier’s checks, starter checks, credit card checks, traveler’s checks, or other similar instruments. In addition, we do not accept cash or coins.

Q. What are your minimum investment amounts? Are there any fees?

Account Fees and Minimums

This guide was developed to assist our customers with important information from the funds’ prospectus. This guide should not be used in lieu of the funds’ prospectus. This information is for reference only and the current fund prospectus is the final arbiter of all terms and conditions related to your fund account. There may be additional fees for certain other activities, which are detailed in the funds’ prospectus. The information below is based on the most recent prospectus dated May 1, 2010.

Please note that we do not accept the following instruments: money orders, cashier’s checks, starter checks, credit card checks, traveler’s checks, third party checks or other similar instruments. In addition, we do not accept cash or coins. Investment checks must be written in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank. Please make checks payable to: United Shareholder Services, Inc. (USSI). USSI is the Transfer Agent that handles the servicing of accounts in the U.S. Global Investors Funds.

The fees and minimum investment amounts below apply to accounts held directly with U.S. Global Investors. Other minimums and/or additional fees may apply to U.S. Global Investors Funds you hold through your brokerage firm. U.S. Global Investors is a no-load mutual fund family, meaning we do not assess any sales commissions at the time of purchase.

2An annual $10 custodial fee per Fund account applies to IRA, Roth IRA, Coverdell ESA, SEP IRA and SIMPLE IRA accounts held directly at U.S. Global Investors. These annual custodial fees will be waived for accounts where the maximum annual contribution is made for that calendar year.
3The exchange fee is assessed on only the “from” Fund account, and can be avoided by performing your exchanges online at www.usfunds.com, or by calling the Automated Investor Line at 1-800-US-FUNDS (1-800-873-8637), Option 2 (for retail), Sub-Option 2 (for automated line).

To fund your initial account by a wire transfer, please send the completed account applications to one of the addresses above and reference that you will be funding the account by wire. An Investor Representative will contact you once the initial account has been established to provide the proper wiring instructions and new account number.

Shares of the U.S. Government Securities Savings Fund and the U.S. Treasury Securities Cash Fund are eligible to receive dividends beginning on the first business day after the wire has been received and accepted by U.S. Global Investors Funds. The funds will not be responsible for any processing delay by the bank.

U.S. Global Investors Funds does not accept applications via fax or email.

Q. How soon after a deposit are funds available for withdrawal?

New purchases and deposits are not available for withdrawal until ten (10) business days after your check is received by shareholder services. The ten business day maturity period also applies to purchases made through our ABC Investment Plan® and by online purchase. The funds will not be responsible for any processing delay by the bank.

The maturity period was established to protect both our company and our shareholders from theft and fraud. Please note that purchases made by bank wire are available the next business day.

Q. What options are available when I access my account online?

Once you establish online access to your account, you will have access to the following account options:

  • View your current balance and account history.*
  • Purchase shares.
  • Exchange shares to a new or existing fund on accounts with like registrations.
  • Redeem shares (for non-retirement accounts only).
  • Add, update, or delete bank information for online purchases and redemptions.
  • Make changes to dividend/cap gains distribution options.
  • Receive statements, fund reports, and fund prospectuses online through e-delivery (once e-delivery options become available).
  • Change your mailing address and email address for e-delivery.
  • Order a duplicate account statement that will be mailed to the address of record.

*You will be able to view up to the last 80 transactions on your account.  However, you will not usually be able to view transactions prior to the current calendar year, so the number of viewable transactions may be less than 80.
