With gold posting gains for 12 years in a row, Tracy Byrnes from Fox Business asked me why I believed gold would continue rising in the new year. We discussed how the battle between fiscal austerity and monetary reflation would keep fueling gold over 2013. In addition, with the five-year government note paying less than 1 percent and inflation at just under 2 percent, we’re experiencing negative real interest rates and the yellow metal has historically performed well during deflation.
