Frank Holmes joins CNBC’s Squawk Box panel to discuss gold, and what drives consumers to continue purchasing the precious metal. Frank explains that nearly 60 percent of all gold demand comes from Asia, in what he calls the Love Trade, when gold is purchased for cultural celebrations and in the form of jewelry.

Frank also notes that the Fear Trade can move the price of gold; people around the world react with concern over government policies that increase inflation and devalue currencies.

In the Squawk Box interview Frank also touches on why platinum and palladium are important commodities to be watching in China right now. Tune into the replay!
