The fear of rising real interest rates and inflation triggers some to buy gold as a hedge, while love drives people to buy gold in the form of jewelry for loved ones. Frank further explains that growing demand and GDP per capita in China and India, the world’s two largest consumers of the yellow metal, coupled with peak supply could lead to higher prices on the horizon.
